Alla Prima Series: Surprised Man

😮 Catch the moment of surprise. In this alla-prima demo, with Kai Lun Qu paints a man reacting with sudden astonishment — teaching you how to capture expression, structure, and loose movement in one confident session.

You’ll learn how to:

  • 🎨 Suggest facial expression and emotion with bold, economical brushstrokes

  • 📐 Build strong underlying shapes and structure to support reactive gestures

  • 💡 Use value and edge contrast to make certain areas “pop” and amplify the moment

  • 🧠 Work alla-prima to preserve spontaneity — balancing form, color, and expression without overworking

Perfect for intermediate-to-advanced artists who want to strengthen their portrait game: not just technically, but expressively, capturing life as it unfolds. Runtime: 1+ hours
