Color Sketch in Photoshop: California Sundown

Tayler Olivas will show you how simple it is to sketch in Photoshop from a photo reference!

Learn the basic process for using photographs to create a two toned-black & white sketch. Learn how to manipulate your reference photo, specifically the atmosphere and background.

Next, using a photograph of Heisler at Night, begin with a black and white two toned sketch and work to create a color sketch. Tayler will walk you through the subtle changes in value as well as how important it is to develop foresight. Artists can anticipate the patterns and various elements of a landscape subject, quickly identify them, and make quick choices in how best to convey them. These skills become important later on in plein air work.

Fine tune your techniques with Tayler's Mentorship.
