Rustic Young Woman Composition Oil Painting Portrait Figure Oil Painting by Michael Malm

Gallery Series: Rustic Young Woman

Travel back in time to meet this historically intriguing young woman in yet another of Michael's in-depth composition courses. Experience the entire process end to end as a bold, creative composition comes to life one piece at a time. It's time to pay close attention to those references as you balance still life with figure and costume. Watch, listen to, and practice alongside a professional painter as he takes every necessary step in clear detail, including the rough design, blocking in values, and simplification of the scene. Come as a writer, leave as a poet, focusing on ideas that suggest instead of mimic reality. That way, you can make the scene more interactive by leaving some details up to the viewer's imagination.
