Gouache Beaches

Join Tiffanie in these two demonstrations of the California coast in gouache. The first Plein Air demonstration at Moss Cove provides interesting shapes in the rocks, however the overcast weather presents a challenge. Learn how Tiffanie tackles the low contrast values presented to her on this overcast day by carving out graphic shapes with her 1 inch flat brush, and infusing subtle temperature shifts in the many neutral grays. Next, in a cliff view painting of Big Sur, Tiffanie tackles a high contrast view where she creates more excitement in the midground rocks by playing with colors in the shadows and the lights. Tiffanie Mang
